Meet Your Provider
Corby Alaniz, PMHNP-BC
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adolescents (ages 12 and up) and adults.
I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, stress-related conditions, and adjustment challenges. Whether you are navigating long-standing symptoms or responding to a recent life change, my goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered in your care.
While I have a strong connection to veterans and first responders, Ironwood Psychiatry is open to anyone seeking mental health support, regardless of background or life experience. Many of my patients are professionals, parents, caregivers, students, first responders, healthcare workers, and individuals simply trying to manage the demands of everyday life.
I take an integrated, individualized approach to treatment that may include medication management, education, and lifestyle considerations tailored to your specific needs. During our initial sessions, we will take time to understand your full health history, current concerns, and goals so we can develop a thoughtful, collaborative treatment plan.
My practice is grounded in respect, transparency, and trust, and I strive to create a space where patients feel safe asking questions and actively participating in their care.
Education & Experience:
I hold a Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. With over 15 years of experience across diverse healthcare settings, I bring a broad clinical perspective and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
My background includes work in high-acuity medical environments, which has shaped my ability to assess complex presentations, remain steady during difficult moments, and approach mental health care with both clinical precision and compassion.
Outside of the clinic, I value time with my family and the grounding that comes from a full and active household. I am supported in my work by my wife, Lindsay, who serves as the Office Administrator for Ironwood Psychiatry and helps ensure that our practice operates smoothly and efficiently. Together, we are raising two adolescent children, which deepens my appreciation for the complexities of family life and development across stages.
Living in Arizona, I enjoy spending time outdoors through activities such as camping, hiking, kayaking, and exploring the desert landscape. These experiences support my own well-being and reinforce the importance of balance, connection, and resilience—values I bring into my work with patients.
A personal Note:
From the Battlefield to the Frontlines of Care
Earlier in my life, I served in the United States Marine Corps, deploying twice to Fallujah, Iraq. After transitioning out of the military, I continued my path of service through healthcare, including work in acute intensive care settings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These experiences gave me firsthand insight into trauma, grief, loss, resilience, and recovery, and they inform how I approach psychiatric care today. While this background allows me to work comfortably with veterans and first responders, it also enhances my ability to support any individual facing significant stress, change, or emotional challenges.
At Ironwood Psychiatry, my focus is not on labels or titles—but on helping people move forward with clarity, stability, and support.
Whether you’re seeking care for yourself, your child, or a loved one, I’m here to help.
